As you can see by the one photo, I am normally pretty pale in the winter, and this gives me that nice, sun-kissed glow without looking orange. I was a little nervous because I had never used a self-tanner before, but this was easy to apply, did not leave streaks, and did not seem to rub off on clothing. It comes out white, then over the course of the next 8 hours, your skin starts to darken. I got the lighter of the two: fair-medium color, and it worked great for me. product review image I’ve used several self-tan products over the years, and so far, I’m really happy with this one! I like that it’s a more natural product, and the fragrance is mild. I do feel like maybe I detect a little bit of an orange hue, but that could just be because I’ve been so white for so long, and that’s how I’m used to seeing myself. Haha. (Thanks, Winter.) I applied it with rubber gloves, which is my favorite method of self-tan application. I pull the gloves back to blend the product into my hands. Yeah, it does take a bit of effort to get this product rubbed in all the way, but I found it helped me to pay extra attention to even application. It was very moisturizing and left my skin feeling very soft. At about 6-7 hours after application, I could see a noticeable difference, and I have no streaks or spots, very even tan. Similar to a browning apple laid out once you've cut into it, you will start to notice the color change as time goes by.

HOW TO USE?

EXFOLIATE!

Ready to tan? Start by exfoliating your skin. Use a loofah, exfoliating pad, or a body scrub to gently get rid of dead skin cells – our self-tanning application kit will give you all the tools you need for a perfect tan. This will help make sure your tan lasts as long as possible. Give your feet, ankles, wrists, and elbows a little moisturizing love beforehand to help make sure they don’t end up darker than your body (these are extra porous areas).

PRO TIP: Wait a day or two after shaving before using our self-tanner.

Exfoliate!

APPLY SELF TANNER

Apply a quarter-size amount of our clean-ingredient self-tanner onto your mitt or applicator brush. Begin applying in sections, starting from your legs and working your way up. Use long, sweeping motions to ensure a streak-free application. Make sure to apply more lightly and blend well on your wrists, ankles, and hands. For your back, apply tanner with a me or grab a friend to help.

LET YOUR TAN DEVELOP

For best results, wait at least an hour with the tanner on your skin before showering, swimming, or doing any kind of aerobic exercise. After 6-8 hours, you'll see that beautiful tan develop. If you want to go darker, just reapply another coat after about an hour. Most people wait about 4-7 days before reapplying to maintain the perfect glow, but do what works for you. Apply lotion daily for the longest lasting results.
